About us
The thought of creating the best non-chemical Christmas tree preserver began in January 1972..
Trials began in March 1972 with results of = nothing better than water, more trials = nothing better than water.. We were diligent and this went on until October 1987. That was when we created a formula that worked better than water.. We produced our first Oregon Forestry Laboratory Christmas Tree Preserver in 1988 with excellent retail success. The following year we continued testing but nothing was working better than our regular formula.. In late 1989 The National Christmas Tree Association gave a grant to a major northwestern University to test Christmas Tree Preservers against water to see if they really worked. Eight brands were tested. Five Christmas trees were used for each product and the testing ran 28 days. At the end of 28 days, the university team checked all the trees. Oregon Forestry Laboratory "Christmas Tree Preserver" lost the least amount of needles of all brands tested plus the trees in water.. Our trees were also rated #1 for overall quality by the university team plus a consumers group.
We continued testing every year from October to the end of March. January 2013 we created a new formula that has us very excited. This 2014 season is our first year producing the new formula.. Even though this formula is better than our first, we will continue testing. A Real Christmas Tree is the Fragrance of Christmas, and we want to make every Christmas as beautiful as it can be.. Testing, testing, testing, we love it!
Plastic trees just don't cut it. The fragrance of Christmas isn't plastic or artificial pine fragrance, it's our childhood memory of a real tree.. We should forward that memory on to our children.
Merry Christmas to you and your family from the Oregon Forestry team.
